ADMISSION PROCEDURE

For Honours Course

Ø      All admission will be strictly according to merit through counseling and following stipulations mentioned above or that prescribed by the Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan .

Ø      The INDEX will determine the position of a candidate in the merit panel.

Ø      All merit panels will be regarded as provisional. A candidate whose name appears on a merit panel will be admitted only after she/he has fulfilled all required criteria prescribed above or prescribed by the Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan .

Ø      A candidate whose name appears in a merit panel will have to take admission on pre- announced date and time.

Ø      A candidate whose name appears in merit panels for more than one subject will have to take admission in any one of those subjects on specified date and time.

Ø      A candidate who fails to take admission on such date and time as will be notified by the college authorities will forfeit her/his claim to candidature and shall not be entertained for admission on a later date.

Ø      After admission from the first list is completed, candidates from the waiting list will be considered for admission only if there is any vacancy.

Ø      Once admitted to an Honours subject a candidate may be given the choice of transferring to another Honours subject for which she/he had applied, only if there is any vacancy in that subject after completion of the Admission procedure.

For General Course:

Ø      All admission will be strictly according to merit and following stipulations mentioned above or that prescribed by the Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan .

Ø      The aggregate marks secured by a candidate at Higher Secondary or equivalent will determine her/his position in the merit panel.

Ø      All merit panels will be regarded as provisional. A candidate whose name appears on a merit panel will be admitted only after she/he fulfilled all required criteria prescribed above or prescribed by the Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan .

Ø      A candidate whose name appears in a merit panel will have to take admission on such date and time as will be notified by the college authorities.

Ø      A candidate who fails to take admission on such date and time as will be notified by the college authorities will forfeit her/his claim to candidature and will not be entertained for admission on a later date.
